Facility Manager as an occupational image in Germany
Being the best international association of Facility Managers, the IFMA dedicates itself to meet the requirements of FM specialists since its foundation in 1980 by carrying out research work, developing training programs and offering options for improvement.
The IFMA has developed a certification program in order to meet the requirements of Facility Managers concerning an occupational title with the benefit of not only gaining additional credibility, but also promoting occupational acknowledgement. The program concludes with the occupational title of a Certified Facility Manager. Also non-IFMA members are invited to participate in this certification program.
CFM stands for
- competent, planning ahead and multi-facetted,
- dedicated, content, motivated,
- excellent performance in the FM profession, acknowledgement and achieving personal goals,
- the best acknowledged reference in the field of Facility Management.
IFMA task force Certified Facility Manager
Wolfgang Moderegger (CFM), being the managing director of the AIS Management and the representative of the IFMA as well as expert advisor for the regional district of Munich, is involved in the occupational and organizational work and as such jointly responsible for all IFMA events. As head of the task force Certified Facility Manager he realized very early the increased requirement for acknowledgement of this profession and the need for a corresponding certification program.
